2025 50 State Afterschool Network Leaders Meeting

Enjoy the Tamaya and New Mexico’s nature: If you arrive early and have time to explore the Tamaya grounds, check out these activities you can do on your own! This is a great opportunity to enjoy New Mexico’s nature by walking or biking the Tamaya trails, visiting the Tamaya Cultural Center, inviting a friend to play pickleball, and more.

Network Team Meetings: We have spaces available for teams to meet before the Network Leaders Meeting programming. Let us know if your team is planning to use this time to meet.   

Join us to watch the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, partially visible from New Mexico! Eclipse glasses will be available at the Tamaya Veranda (Outdoors) with Itzel. The solar eclipse begins at 11:16am, peaks at 12:30pm, and concludes at 1:47pm. See you there! 🌞🌑
Please note it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. Viewing any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury. Get ready to highlight your good work, inspire, and spark ideas for others! We're organizing a showcase where everyone can explore and gain insights into the innovative work being done by the networks. To participate, do one of the following and drop it off at the registration desk:

• Option 1: Bring a sample of resources and materials you want to share with fellow attendees such as annual reports, one-pagers, toolkits, engaging activities, or fun swag.
• Option 2: Create an informal poster presentation and include your materials there. You can use the "Optional Team Time" on Monday to prep.
  
  
  

Cultural Welcome: The people of the Tamaya will do a traditional welcome and share about the land and history of their ancestors.

Featured: Pueblo Oven Bead Making - Experience one of the Pueblo’s oldest traditions, breadmaking in a traditional Huruna (oven). A Pueblo member will demonstrate how to prepare the dough and bake it in the Hurana. After, the bread will be served with a variety of butters and preserves.
